Leading healthcare technology company receives honor for rapid deployment of its telehealth solutions, modmed® Telehealth and gTelehealth™, during the pandemic
BOCA RATON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Modernizing Medicine®, a leading healthcare technology company, was named a winner of the Silver Stevie® Award for Most Valuable Medical Innovation in the COVID-19 response category in the 17th Annual International Business Awards®.
The company launched two fully integrated audio and video telehealth solutions, modmed® Telehealth and gTelehealth™, for its specialty-specific EMR systems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Modernizing Medicine realized the need for integrated telehealth solutions and fast-tracked what would typically take 12 to 16 weeks to complete down to a four-week timeframe.
“The rollout of our telehealth solutions took a concerted effort from a cross-section of the organization. Roughly 40 dedicated individuals comprising a team of software engineers, UX specialists, mobile and backend architects, and cloud-service engineers worked around the clock to build out the platforms needed to bring two telehealth solutions to market,” shared Modernizing Medicine’s Chief Technology Officer, Patric Edmondson. “The goal and motivation was to help provide both business continuity to practices and continuity of care for patients, as many practices had to close their doors.”
modmed Telehealth serves physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in the fields of dermatology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, otolaryngology and plastic surgery, while the gTelehealth platform serves healthcare professionals in the gastroenterology space.
Long Hoang, Business Manager of United Dermatology Associates and modmed Telehealth user, noted, “When the stay-at-home order went into effect, we didn’t know how our offices were going to function. modmed Telehealth helped alleviate some of the stresses of the decrease in visits. Without the modmed Telehealth option, we most likely would have shut our doors until the stay-at-home ban was lifted. We are very thankful Modernizing Medicine was able to release this solution in a matter of weeks.”
